There was, as far as I know, no quake damage.

But the city and area has been inundated with medical emergencies, as are other regional hospitals.

People are flocking away from the q. area in search of safety, water, food and shelter.

And St. Marc is the first main city north.

This is where I want to go, because here we can serve the needy and harmed.

They left often without any belongings, having lost relatives - nothing left. The hosp. in DesChapelles (Schweitzer) had no anesthesia or analgesics a few days ago. (Solved?) They had 400 pts and many waiting.

(example) My Godson lives in St. Marc so I can get more info as soon as the phones work again.

Thanks for caring!

Returning from St.Marc (4 days ago) I found a great need for help - both large and small.

The hospital, St. Nicolas, is still overflowing with patients from PaP; mainly serious fractures and festering wounds.

Our team, OneBigBoost, has been able to feed one nutritious hot meal a day to PaP refugees.

Hospitals in Haiti do not supply food, and friends and family are expected to bring in meals.

We took that role as well as we could.

"We" are a group of young Haitians, who are doing a marvelous job, which also provides needed income for them. The project has been initiated by OneBigBoost, a US-based, global organization that acts as a catalyst.

Some schools in St. Marc were/are closed because of mild structural damage, to protect the students.

Work needs to be found/created for the many who cannot return.

There were several tremors while I was there, including one that crashed glasses to the ground around 4 am. I will return in another week.
