Shipping Costs For Donations To Haiti

My daughter is flying on a charter from Miami to Haiti on February 19th. She lives in Baltimore and is flying to Miami on American Airline.
She has donations to bring with her chartered group to Haiti.
The problem is American Airlines will charge her to bring these donations on her flight from Baltimore to Miami, since this is not part of her chartered flight.
We are upset that American Airlines wants to profit of these donations.
We are looking for help to ship these items to Miami before the 19th. We know we can have the Red Cross or others ship directly to Haiti for free, but my daughter was hoping the impact of her and her group to personally deliver these items to the victims they are helping would be a benefit.
Does anyone have any thoughts or ideas to help?
