I hope that anyone who is seriously contemplating going to haiti to do construction work takes the time to learn about living conditions in haiti. people mave have their hearts in the right place but they also need to get their head on straight. before the earthquake life in haiti was a constant challenge. only a handfull of american style hotels. buying materials and spare parts was a major event. to go to the hardware market and purchase a few pvc fittings was an all day affair. ... All the transformers and long lengths of wire need to be gathered up now...a part of a section in the capitol could be up and running with electricity pretty quickly...large generator with fuel is also needed....alot of useful poles also left on the ground...working on a solar pan for distilling water...need 1000 dollars immediately to build the press...then several thousand could be made immediately....producing at least 15 gallons of distilled water per unit per day...the well water has to...
