i m planning to do a food and cloth drive to give to an organization to help people in haiti i don t know what organization yet i m doing some research some ideas ... but i don t know if a garage sale would be better because i know that sending and distributing items to haiti is very complicated now... any comments and ideas on what organization i should give the donations to would be appreciated thanks

I am Adam 20 years old and capable of helping in any number of ways. I am not specialized in paramedics but will do anything I can with an organization. I will drop out of school and fly down to haiti with the help of an organization and stay a very extended period of time.

H.e.d.o organization is in desperate need of donations. water batteries first aid kits flash lights matches can goods wipes etc. as of today there is no us mail entering haiti. our organization is collecting donations to ship to haiti via cargo in south florida. most of all monetary donations are needed h.e.d.o is currently operating under small tents with bare minimum. the schools were destroyed and outreach centers. your help will make a huge difference in this... Has anyone found an organization to go with I so desperately want to do something to help and am willing to go. I am a teacher but have first aid CPR training and am willing to do anything take care of children in orphanages handout water food or dig in rubble. Please let me know if you find an organization to go with.

I went to the US State Departments s website and this organization link below is listed on their site. This link provides a list of many different organizations that can be donated to.

Yes visit Haitian Educational Developmental Organization is a respectable nonprofit organization who are in desperate need of donations. They have been there long before the earthquake and are rebuilding the schools and drug treatment facilities. This organizations not only provides help but services as well. You can easily make a donation on their website its quick and secured.
